About Judge Tina Talim:

Judge Tina Talim, appointed by Governor Joe Lombardo to the Eighth Judicial District Court in June 2024, is the first Indian-American judge in Nevada’s history. A graduate of UCLA and Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, Tina has a distinguished career in litigation and public service.

Career Highlights:

• Prosecutor: Served 19 years in the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, handling dozens of felony jury trials, including murder, sexual assaults, and drug trafficking cases.

• Chief Deputy District Attorney: Led the prosecution of national and international drug trafficking cartels.

• Community Leader: Initiated and led community outreach efforts, creating pipelines for historically underrepresented populations to enter the legal profession.

• Award-Winning: Two-time recipient of the “Prosecutor of the Year” award. First civilian to receive the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Exemplary Service Award. Recognized by the Office of President Barack Obama for her prosecution of Nevada's largest methamphetamine drug trafficking organization. 

Judge Talim is committed to fair and impartial justice, maintaining high ethical standards, and ensuring cases move efficiently through the system so justice is not delayed. With 20 years of litigation experience and dedication to community service, Judge Talim is an exceptional judge and the right choice to retain her seat in Department 14.
